TATTENHALL ANNUAL FAIR

Although I have lived in Tattenhall for over forty years I have never entered the local fair which takes place every September.  This year I thought I would have a go with some of my photographs and to my surprise and delight I won best in show with my Kingfisher shot and was awarded the Millennium Cup!!

I came second with my picture of a pony on Bickerton Hill

For the section on wildlife taken in the village these came first and second respectively

AFTER THE OP!! MAY, 2014

Early in 2014 I had an operation on my ankle which made me  virtually immobile for 3 months.  It was very difficult to take any pictures at that time except for those birds which visited my garden.  These are a few of them

Blue Tit, taken through glass!!

This Pied Wagtail is nesting in my neighbours garden

Dunnock in my garden

 and another Blue Tit

Goldfinch taken on a new Rowan tree, glad they have found it, it has only been planted about 6 weeks

Quite a few insects about too, although I only managed a few!

White-tailed Bumble Bee, taken in the garden.

I managed to take a few shots through the car window - the first Red Legged Partridge was taken in North Wales during my trip to see Black Grouse
The Sedge was taken, again from the car window, at Frodsham Marsh

The pair of Greater Spots from Belvide
